Valéria Nascimento’s training as an architect has informed her interest in the place where the urban landscape and natural forms converge. A year after earning her degree, the native Brazilian became fascinated with clay and its malleable qualities. Nascimento creates wall-mounted or hanging installations referencing blossoms and flora, bringing the natural world into indoor spaces. Her muted palette choice emphasizes the delicacy of her work. Nascimento has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions in Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and has been represented by the Woolff Gallery since 2007. She currently lives and works in London.
